Comprehending Commitment Commitments can make life heavy… if we voluntarily do good in this present moment the good we do is life giving…because it’s done from the now….from life in this moment….mitment to live in this moment takes away the heaviness from commitment.... When we commit ourselves we often find ourselves putting more on our plate than life serves us in this moment….we end up biting of more than we can chew…..and as a result we suffer….life becomes overwhelming when we try to “live up to our commitments” …..rather than just live in this moment….To live here and now is not to live up to or down to….it’s just to live….. When we commit ourselves we often confine ourselves..…life can no longer happen spontaneously as we feel we must give our time to our commitments…. When we make commitments we put ourselves in debt…..when we take out a loan it brings debt with it…..we pay that debt with time….it’s take away time to live from us….when commitments go beyond this moment we too often find we lose control….for we cannot control tomorrow…the only real covenant is the covenant we have in this moment..its a living covenant...a covenant to live righteously now.....words are empty promises....the living word is the word that is now..... We cannot give our whole lifetime to God…to life….we can only give what we have…this present moment…..the only life we can give God is the life we have…..now…if we are not alive now we are dead….. Many say they have decided to follow Jesus…and give their whole life to him….but inwardly they rationalize …that they give their whole life time to him….they suffer from that delusion….for a whole lifetime cannot be given to him…unless it’s given one moment at a time…..what is behind us is behind us…what is ahead of us is ahead of us….the only life we can live for Jesus is the life we have in this moment…..if we have decided to follow Jesus …..if we have decided to serve him…we must consider his words…he said…”where I am there will my servant be”…..he is here in this moment….we can only be with him by being present with him…abiding with him in the now….in this moment…. We cannot abide in the vine unless we are in the vine…if we are not in the vine now…we are not in the vine….the vine is what brings life to us now….it is Christ in this present moment….. An ancient proverb says that…. “a good traveler has no fixed plans”….. Saint James tell us this…. Now listen, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, If it is the Lords will, we will live and do this or that. As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. The lords will is known in the moment…..if we don’t know his will now…we do not know it at all……consider that deeply…..life wills that you live now…..on its terms…not your own…..here …in this very moment…live life on life’s terms and you do the will of God….you can only be right with life in this moment…if you are righteous …you are righteous now….if you are not righteous now…you are not righteous…… May the Grace and Peace of our lord Jesus Christ be multiplied unto you as you continue to walk in awareness of his presence in this present moment….
