If osodin thinks he can exploit ethnocentric avenue to create political and ethnic imbroglio among us all, I stand to tell u that u have failed, ur aim will not work..... No body talks about the oba as a person, people are only concern about the role of the traditional institution and the palace of Benin in Edo state politics.... We all know what is going on at the palace, people like u have not been to the palace for once, it is however clear that ur submissions and conclusion is based on assumption and not what actually happen at the palace.... Now let me give u some reasons why I am a little bit skeptical about the palace of Benin to be specific... The palace of Benin has a great power and influence on the people of Benin and the state in General and it has the power to influence our choice of voting in an election... The palace is suppose to protect the customary right of every citizen and ensure that the government act on the will of the people if he wants to continue to enjoy it influence on the people ... As the saying goes “ if u dont want people to change, dont hurt them” We are aware that the state house of assembly has been owned and captured by oshiomole, so the will of the people is no longer there and men like Uyi Ibge the speaker is just only been employed as a cleaner to the governor.... The palace is suppose to act as a resistance to any frivolous and anti-people polices of government on the people, not to continue to support the government against the people...... Let me ask osodin some few question, where were u when the palace was supporting the property tax law against the will of the people? The palace said “ youth should allow the government collect tax from the landlord, so that the governor can build a five star hotel.. A landlord that collect money from tenant is suppose to pay tax to the government” the youth replied by saying “ How many of us can afford spending a night in a five star hotel? In the same vain the youth inform the palace that government has failed in his responsibility to provide housing and other basic infrastructure for the people and the government wants to collect money from the one the people build with their own sweat? The youth concluded by saying that they will resist the police to the last and promise to ensure that it dies a natural death and dump into the waste being of history...... Now the palace is backing the new development to sell the Edo house in lagos.... What will u call a government who cannot keep and sustain ancient monument that was inherited from pass government for the common benefit of the future generation? The palace must stand out to check this menace instead of supporting it.. Can u imagine a disjointed political element like tony kabaka is now even greater than a professor in Edo state, under the tutelage of governor nesugie Oshiomole and u expect us all to be happy? U better have a rethink and wake up prom ur dream...
