Comrades, for immediate release: PRESS STATEMENT The Northern Regional Executive Committee of the NDC has noted with grave concern meetings being held with branch executives by certain individuals purporting to be parliamentary aspirants in certain constituencies in the region. The Party views these developments as a clear breach of Party Constitution and such so-called parliamentary aspirants should in their own interest desist from this unhealthy practice with immediate effect. Failure to comply with this directive may form the basis of disqualification to contest the parliamentary primaries for 2016 elections. The statement further advise the Constituency Executives and District Chief Executives to stay away from such so-called aspirants in the interest of Party unity. In another development, the Party views the press conference held by the constituency chairman and his secretary for Nalerigu Constituency demanding the removal of the DCE for East Mamprusi by way of ultimatum to the President as a clear case of insubordination and sheer disrespect towards the Presidency and the Party which we have condemned in no uncertain terms. We further demand the immediate withdrawal of such statement to avoid disciplinary measures taking place against them. We therefore advise all Party Executives, supporters and sympathizers to exhaust internal Party procedures provided for by article 41 (3) of the Party Constitution to deal with differences in the Party at all levels instead of recourse to the press and legal proceedings.
