Concerning People: As a society it seems that we throw away people as easily as we do trash. The problem is that people arent garbage to be tossed out of sight. How are we supposed to love the least of these if we cant maintain a relationship with the most important people in our lives? People are imperfect by nature. They will let you down. When this happens I see people replace spouses as if it where like buying a new loaf of bread. Well that one went bad so lets go get another. I see friendships disregarded for the same reasons. If one doesnt feel close to another then they think that they obviously are not and so they abandon effort. I would never say a person needs to stay in a toxic relationship. If there is abuse or extenuating circumstances then that is one thing. But growing distant from someone you claim to have a relationship with is another. It is not OK to let close relationships slip away that could be salvaged. It is not ok to stop extending grace to the people you claim to love. Just because someone hurts you doesnt give you a right to eliminate them from your life. One day you will wake up and realize that you are in part responsible for ruining a good thing. And on that day you will want forgiveness as well. Give the grace you want to get. Forgiveness without limits. Love thats not determined by success or failure. Lets be good to each other out there.
