Concerning movie portrayals and based off of true accounts always leaves one with the curious disposition of sifting through the reality of what actually happened. Usually much different that the cinema. Sadly these endeavors requires much time reading and comparing notes, work that most people simply do not have time for. In Kyles book he self described his statist views plainly and openly, and anyone with a shred of knowledge concerning the reality of the US involvement in Iraq knows that it was an illegal invasion and occupation. What this draws for us is how uniquely the propaganda machine twists the events to sanitize these events and, in particular, a story about an American patriot that conjures and envelopes acceptance and support for a false narrative. In review of the response to the movies critics, who point out this hypocrisy and false narrative, they were met with a barrage or hateful and dangerous replies in support of Kyle and US actions in Iraq. This shows us also, quite clearly, the effects of media indoctrination and propaganda. The ability for the state to produce such passionate and ignorant responses is concerning and vile.
