Concerning the Discovery Channel JFK: Inside the Target - TopicsExpress

Concerning the Discovery Channel JFK: Inside the Target Car Vinnie Tieto posted a great comment earlier today: 1. Based on the position of Sherrys shooter (the southern end of the Triple Underpass), the shot wouldve had to go through the windshield. Im attaching a screen shot from the documentary JFK: Inside the Target Car which demonstrates this. Ill insert the link to the video in a follow-up post. Obviously, there was no bullet-hole in the windshield, nor did the glass shatter. I thought I would post a photo and a comment in response. The location within Dealey Plaza from which the test shot for this television show was taken is demonstrated in a computerized graphic taken from a screen shot from the program. Using a rifle mounted camera, the view the shooter would have had of the target from that location was also captured and included. From this location, the shooter indicated there was a 2 or 3 inch unobstructed view of the target. In the screen capture from the television show depicting the test shooter making that statement, it is obvious the test shooter is standing well below the elevation of the overpass or the adjacent parking lot. The street elevation at frame 313 is 418.5 feet above sea level. The top of the handrail at the south end of the overpass is 428.4 feet above sea level. The highest point of the limo is 57 inches. Added to the street elevation means the highest point of the limo is 4.65 feet below the top of the handrail. This difference in elevation is readily apparent when standing in that area and having the ability to view the entire length of the top of a school bus. The photo of the men in the television program suggests they was standing a point where the parking lot behind them may have been equal to the height of their waist or higher. This means they were likely at a point three feet or more below the street elevation of the overpass. The obvious declining slope of the grassy area suggest this lower elevation providing a 2 or 3 inch view of the target, likely would have been increased to 3 or 4 feet had the parking lot or winged portion of the overpass been the location of the test shot. Additionally, someone standing out in the open and on the exposed slope of the grassy area like the test shooter in the television show depicts, would have immediately been seen. I believe the location used for the television show was intentionally misleading.
