Concerning the works of men, by the Word of Thy Lips I have Kept [me from] the paths of the destroyer. They have seen vanity and lying divination( they preach a rapture), saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made [others] to hope that they would confirm the word. Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith [it]; albeit I have not spoken? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I [am] against you, saith the Lord GOD. Ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more. Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation. What will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation [which] shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory? The destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate. As the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.The Hope of the Righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. The Way of the LORD [is] Strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.Transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. The Righteous shall Never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy Confidence, and shall Keep thy foot from being taken.The Wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
