Condolence Nicole Kidman SINGAPORE — The father of Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman has died in Singapore, and the police said yesterday they were investigating his unnatural death. Dr Antony Kidman (picture), a well-respected clinical psychologist at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), was visiting the movie star’s sister, Antonia, who lives in Singapore, media said. He is believed to have collapsed while he was at Tanglin Club, where he is believed to have been staying. In response to TODAY’s queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at around 8am yesterday requesting for medical assistance at the club. “A few members of public were assisting to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a Caucasian man when SCDF arrived. The SCDF paramedic used an automated external defibrillator and continued with CPR,” said a spokesman, adding that CPR was also performed while they took Dr Kidman to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). The police confirmed they were informed at 9.54am that a man in his 80s was pronounced dead at TTSH. The police said they are investigating the unnatural death. The Herald Sun newspaper reported that Dr Kidman made regular trips to Singapore, where Ms Antonia Kidman lives with her husband and six children. The Daily Mail Australia quoted Ms Nicole Kidman’s publicist and long-time family friend, Ms Wendy Day, as saying the family is in shock and is grieving.
