Confession: - today we went to the Topeka zoo - I learned while traveling on vacation how much easier it was to carry my things in a backpack which left my hands free. I chose to follow suit today. We were at the petting zoo and Kendal wanted to feed the goats and calves. I took the pack off to find a few coins to buy the food. I took some additional coins and put in my pockets for future use. We continued on for some distance. All of a sudden Kendal asked me where my backpack was and with horror I realized I had left it on the bench when I had retrieved coins earlier. I was in an instant panic as that had my billfold with all my cash, bank cards and credit cards. Let me just say that for an old woman I transformed into the speed and focus of a Gazelle. Dennis tried to go with me and I left him sprinting far behind me. He wanted to call my hip doctor and tell him how proud he would be of me ha ha - Luckily, miraculously or whatever you want to call it, my pack was still where I had left it and everything intact. It was clearly visable but one of the zoo employees was in that area at all times. I was so thankful and told Kendal that she deserved a reward for noticing!!! I will also say that as fast and deliberate as I was, I am paying for it tonight. The leg is doing a lot of complaining but it did what it needed to do when it needed to do it. I think it is the same with people - it is amazing what can be done and accomplished when the right attitude and desire is there!
