Confession: Im a Gluten-Free Food Hoarder livingwithout/blog/Gluten-Free-Food-Hoarder-3796-1.html The past few weeks my Facebook feed has been loaded with pictures of full shopping carts, packed with gluten-free boxed food. It turns out that Aldi’s launch of gluten-free packaged and frozen products made quite the impression on my gluten-free social networks. The launch featured the key trifecta for any savvy gluten-free shopper: it was inexpensive, safe, and only for a limited time. These products created a frenzy of people loading up as much as they could in their grocery bags. While this product launch is only temporary, I’m hoping that more grocery stores catch on and create a gluten-free line of their own that has a permanent place in their aisles (ex. Safeway). But this mass chaos scene isn’t uncommon to gluten-free shoppers - it’s how we’ve learned to survive with limited food choices.
