May assist single parents, arrange adoptions, and find foster homes for abandoned or abused children. In schools, communities and other service facilities they address such problems as teenage pregnancy, misbehavior, and truancy. May also advise parents, partners and caregivers on how to deal with problem children. Interview children of PLHIV individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems, to determine what services are required to meet their needs. Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, and/or medical care. Maintain case history records and prepare reports. Counsel children whose behavior, progress, or mental or physical impairment indicate a need for assistance, diagnosing problems and arranging for needed services. Consult with parents, partners, caregivers and other relatives or neighbors to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior, and to implement solutions. Counsel parents with child rearing problems, interviewing the child and family to determine whether further action is required. Provide psychosocial support so as to help HIV positive children and their parents to cope with the HIV/AIDS and its consequences. Develop and keep continuous linkage with the referral service centers. Assist to the Project Officer and ED for any kind of work as and when required. Job Nature Contractual Educational Requirements Masters in Psychology or social science with 3 years practical experience. Experience Requirements 2 to 3 year(s) The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Communication/Public Relation/Media The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGOs Additional Job Requirements Age 25 to 35 year(s) Candidates who have working experience in child rights and human rights issues and HIV/AIDS related issues will be given preferences.
