Confirmed: Three persons were convicted of lottery scamming charges in the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court on, July 7, bringing to 11 the number of persons convicted since the start of the current session of the high court in June. 19-year-old Tafarie Haddad and 36-year-old Denise Sutherland, both of Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the commission of an offence contrary to section (12) of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act 2013 and were sentenced to two years and three years hard labour respectively. A minor was also sentenced to three years probation for the offence of knowingly possessing identity information. His name is however being withheld.
