Confronting two of my biggest fears within 24 hours. First, cockroaches. I think they are the most disgusting creature on the planet. I had only ever seen ONE before moving here. The giant, mutant, cockroaches with 6 ft antennae are always roaming the streets of Okinawa at night. In our previous home, just after Eric deployed, I found a total of 2 cockroaches in our house. Lisa Marie can attest to the fact that I scoured every square inch of my house with bleach, and then kept the house at a balmy 63 degrees to freeze them out. I never saw another. Until now. Our neighborhood has been torn apart as they dig up and replace pipes. All the way up to everyones doorway. They must have disturbed something because now I, and every neighbor Ive talked to suddenly has a roach problem. Giant roaches that wave their antennae at you and laughed as you scream like a little girl (yes, this is an instance where even I scream like a little girl and freeze in terror). They are taunting me. I kid you not, last night I dreamed of cockroaches. Second, the dentist. If you live in Tacoma area, Dr. Paradise (yes, thats his real name) is amazing and family corrected all the botched up work from a previous dentist. Its been four years since we left and I have visited the dentist twice. Hear me out; my first visit, they told me they were sorry but they were running behind and could only clean the bottom half of my mouth. WHAT? Only in the military...The second visit, the dentist managed to numb every part my me from my neck to my eyebrows....but not the tooth he was working on. Oh how I missed Dr. Paradise. So I havent been back. But my teeth hurt and I must go. When Richard Gilbert, Francesca Seehausen, and William Seehausen were here, I felt like I had people watching my back. Today I have to go alone. This stinks. Erics, Hey do they need to drill without novacaine since your pregnant? did nothing to comfort me. I want a medal for bravery. Like, now.
