Congrats to Curtis musicians, soprano Sarah Shafer and violist Hae Sue Lee for winning prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra Albert M. Greenfield Student Competition! Ms. Shafer, the winner of the Senior division, performed songs by Brahms, Barber and Mozart. She is currently finishing her studies in the opera program at the Curtis Institute of Music, having sung over a dozen roles and participated in more than 20 Curtis operas. Hae Sue Lee won the Junior Division by performing Walton’s Viola Concerto. An award-winning young musician from Korea, Ms. Lee entered Curtis in 2013 where she studies with Roberto Díaz and Hsin Yun Huang. Honorable mentions in the Senior Division also went to Curtis violinists Aaron Timothy Chooi and Shannon Lee.
