Congrats to the 20 poverty lawyers who attended the Washington Council of Lawyerss Litigation Skills Series on Intensive Litigation Skills. Here’s what a couple of the lawyers had to say: An Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center lawyer: “I was impressed by the wealth of experience that each of the speakers and trainers brought, and I deeply appreciated them taking time out of their busy schedules to impart some of their lessons learned with us attendees.” A Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia lawyer: “The facilitators quickly identified strong and weak points, and I am eager to incorporate their feedback in practice…The training was not just an amazing learning experience—it was inspiring.” A Bread for the City lawyer: I found the case theory and case theme lecture to be very helpful, as well as the direct and cross examination lectures. It was great to hear personal stories from each presenter with little tips on how they handle difficult clients, facts and situations. Look out for more scholarship opportunities from the DC Bar Foundation to attend similar workshops!
