Congratulation to our first Lucky Month of May trivia contest winner, Katie Semos! Now lets see who else knows a lot about Camelot... Todays four questions are true or false, and are all about the film version of Camelot. Give your answers as a comment on todays trivia post. You must be the first to provide all four correct answers. Have fun! How totally hippie of you, 1967 film version of Camelot: Guenevere’s wedding dress was made of fishing nets, seashells, and pumpkin seeds. Cher, Liza Minnelli, and Petula Clark were all considered for the role of Guenevere in the film version of Camelot. Richard Burton, who played Arthur in the original Broadway version of Camelot, lost the role in the film version to Richard Harris in a drinking contest. When producers couldn’t decide between the two Richards, they left it to the two famously inclined-to-imbibe actors to “drink it out, gentlemen.” Richard Harris literally drank Richard Burton under the (round) table, winning the film role. Cheers! The armor used in the film version of Camelot was later rented to Walt Disney World Studios for use in their movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
