Congratulations Graduating course 1/2014 19 new police officers have graduated from the Tasmania Police Academy this afternoon and will be walking the beat to ensure the safety of revellers this festive season. The graduates take up their new positions on Monday. The new Constables will be stationed around the state: 11 to Hobart, 5 to Launceston and, 3 to Devonport. “I’m sure the communities they will be working in, will welcome the additional policing services during this busy festive period. “The public face of policing is changing; we are more connected to the community we serve, through traditional media and our social media presence. “It is good to see that the public have shown such a positive interest. The Constables, in turn, have shown dedication and enthusiasm for joining a profession that takes pride in serving the community with integrity, equity and accountability. They are committed to delivering a high standard of policing services to Tasmanians,” said Commissioner Darren Hine.
