Congratulations Ivan Doucet! Denali Award Winner- Ivan Doucet-Susitna Elementary School o Twenty-five year ASD veteran Ivan Doucet is a cherished member of the Susitna Elementary School family. o In addition to his daily duties of keeping the school safe and clean, he volunteers to coach after-school sports at Susitna, such as track, dodge ball and basketball. According to his principal, he uses student participation in sports to encourage their achievement in school and reinforce good behavior and SEL skills. o He is trained in Life Skills Crisis Intervention and Non-Crisis Intervention Training, allowing him to help safety deescalate students. He provides students with brain breaks, work details and positive reinforcements. o Doucet always brings a smile to the faces of teachers, students and parents. “His job description may be BPO, but he goes above and beyond.
