We, her 7 boys and grandchildren are all in Fiji but we would very much love for her to go overseas even if its just once. Dad, God rest his soul, have had the privilege to go all over the world but Mom could not accompany him even when given the chance because the thought of leaving her children behind wouldve been unbearable for her. Although most of us have grown and have families of our own, she still gives excuses not to leave home thinking of her responsibilities even if its just visiting in Fiji away from Suva. She has had her fair share of struggles and pains in life and the worst was a couple of years ago when she lost 3 sisters and her husband within five months. We could never imagine what she was or is still feeling right now. I’ve just returned from a meeting in New Zealand and our cousin sister there has requested that we make arrangements for Mom to come over for a visit since she doesn’t have any daughters but we, her sons, just cannot afford to bring her over there right now. We would love for Mom to enjoy life now that Dad’s gone. This would be a great opportunity for her to take a break away from home. We love her so much and we want her to know that everything will be ok. Dad would want this wherever he is watching her from above. She will indeed be travelling in her own home away from home as she hails from the island that one of the planes is named after – Namuka-i-Lau.
