Congratulations Sr Warden Nadya Lawson! CONGRATULATIONS! We offer our warmest and sincerest congratulations to our wonderful Senior Warden Nadya Lawson for receiving the 2014 James and Pearl Campbell Peace and Justice Award. The James and Pearl Campbell Peace and Justice Award will be presented at the upcoming Capital Area Council of Churches’ Spring Assembly and is awarded to a person who in his/her life’s work has shown to be a friend of peace and justice. As we know, Nadya certainly fits this criteria; her work on Prisoner Justice issues here at St. Andrews is just one example of this. Nadya puts this quote by Pedro Arrupe to action every day: “The Church should, above all, be the church of the oppressed, the refugees, those persecuted for their faith, those relegated by the rich and powerful to the margins of society.”
