Congratulations, Year of the Bible readers! Weve completed another book in the Old Testament. Today we begin reading through Nehemiah. The narrative of Nehemiah covers the return of the exiles to Jerusalem, the rebuilding of the walls around Jerusalem, and the re-establishment of the covenant. Here is todays reading. Nehemiah begins with Nehemiah praying for his people and being sent to Judah to begin rebuilding the walls around Jerusalem. In Psalms, we pray a song of memory. The psalmist calls the people to tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders he has done. Then the psalmist begins to recount Israels repetitive history of Gods goodness and Israels ingratitude.
