Congratulations and Welcome to our First PTA Unit Chartered Under the NYS Urban Initiative: School #6 B.E.S.T. PTA in Buffalo, NY! October is the Month of the Urban Child, part of the National PTA’s Every Child in Focus campaign to strengthen family engagement in schools by celebrating the achievements and reporting the disparities within diverse populations, and sharing resources and advocacy tools to help understand the needs of every child. The NYS PTA Urban Initiative at School 6 will serve as a model for this region, offering a beacon of change and advancement. Through the collaboration of NYS PTA, Buffalo Public Schools, EPIC-Every Person Influences Children, and Research to Practice, this charter marks a bold step in demonstrating how urban schools operate to engage families in student success.
