Congratulations to Amanda Shires who received her Lieutenant bars as EMS new Level 3 paramedic at this evenings County Commissioner meeting. In a strategic move to provide additional EMS coverage to the citizens of Rutherford County, a new Paramedic Level 3 senior position was created. The Level 3 Paramedic will operate in a quick response vehicle by themselves. They will be placed in key areas around the county that typically have longer response times due to distance traveled. The Level 3 Paramedic is as skilled as a Shift Supervisor and can work independently until an ambulance can arrive on the scene. The position requires four years of active paramedic experience and two year experience within Rutherford County EMS.
