Congratulations to Ambassador Thettalil Sreenivasan on the publication of his anthology, Applied Diplomacy: Through The Prism of Diplomacy. The book is edited by Dr. Diya S. Iyer, and the noted economist Jagdish Bhagwati has written the foreword. Ambassador Sreenivasan is a brilliant writer, one of the most astute and knowledgeable commentators on world affairs. The new book is a collection of his columns, ably selected by Dr. Iyer. Shes also contributed a wonderful introduction thats much more than a conventional door-opener: Dr. Iyer has carefully gone through hundreds of Ambassador Sreenivasans columns and come up with a thesis postulating the role of mythology in how the author perceives diplomacy and its consequences. She suggests that Lord Hanuman be made a mascot of the Indian Foreign Service. Early reviews of Applied Diplomacy are glowing. Book critics have especially lauded Dr. Iyers imaginative introduction. The publisher is Wisdom Tree, which is headed by the very able Shobit Arya. Ambassador Sreenivasans Twitter handle: @Sreeniv Divya S.
