Congratulations to BA Graphic Design student Scarlett Evans, who has been awarded Sony’s Student Focus Photographer of the Year 2014. For her winning series of self-portraits, ‘A Childhood in England’, Evans revisited places she’d frequented when young. She said: “I wanted the photographs to be very quiet and still; simple portraits in empty spaces – this being reflective of that place as I recall it existing only in memory, the people that made it what is was having long departed.”
