This is what he wrote: We should remember the First World War because we sit in warm, safe houses glued to screens. Our fears are the internet crashing, we’ve run out of credit on our phones, our new trainers may get spoilt in the rain and there are no chocolate biscuits in the tin. We are hard done by. Life is not fair. We know all about war. Call of Duty Ghosts is in the shops now for Christmas. It will be all over by Christmas. But it wasn’t and we need that memory to remember how lucky we are.
