Congratulations to HEMI faculty member and civil engineering - TopicsExpress

Congratulations to HEMI faculty member and civil engineering professor Jamie Guest for his selection to a 14-person core team appointed by The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) to assist in conducting a study on behalf of the Material Measurement Laboratory of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology! The goal of the study, titled “Modeling Across Length Scales: A Roadmapping Study for Development of Models, Computer Codes, and Personnel Integration for Connecting Materials Simulations Across Length Scales,” is to build fully-developed frameworks to advance the state-of-the-art model and code linkages in the near term. Structural materials, such as metals, non-metals, and composites will be the particular focus. However, the strategies created are intended to provide a base for applying similar techniques to functional or soft materials. The TMS study is scheduled to be unveiled at the 3rd World Congress on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) in May 2015 in Colorado Springs.
