Congratulations to Lauryn & her assistance dog Graham that qualified today and are now on there way back to Wexford. Its been a long hard week for little lauryn, the girl that was told she would never walk......... just look at her go......!!!!!! Her condition causes her to have high muscle tone therefore making it very difficult for Lauryn to straighten her legs and get her heels onto the ground. Therefore all week we have been working on getting lauryn to stand tall (straightening her knees, bum in, heels down and shoulders back) and lifting her knees and stamping down her feet while shes walking to stretch out her calf muscles and get her heels onto the ground. We look forward to watching Lauryns progress over the next 6mths with Graham by her side. These two are simply a joy to work with as they are always happy and positive :-)
