Congratulations to Long Beach for getting its PB process underway. My only critique of this video is that Councilmember Richardson doesnt think the dollar amount matters that much (hes allocating $250,000 in his District) - Its really about the process and people learning about government. Thats only part of the story. I would offer that the more money that is on the table, the more public participation there will be, the more confidence the public will have in government and greater trust between government, elected officials and the public will develop. Those three ingredients are very important in any successful PB process (and Im sure there are more).
