Congratulations to Marshal Leo M. Halligan who was chosen to be this year’s Grand Marshal for the Veterans Day Parade on November 8th that will begin at the Riverview Mall. Mr. Halligan, was born 10-12-1923, joined the United States Navy in 1940 at the age of 17. After receiving basic training, Mr. Halligan participated in an impressive list of campaigns during his 30 year career, seeing action in both the Pacific and European theaters of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and such specific battles at the Aleutian Islands, the Marshall Islands, Okinawa and Inchon. Probably his proudest moment of service was to be on board the USS Missouri to witness to signing of Japan’s unconditional surrender following WWII. See you at the Parade!!
