Congratulations to Rockingham artist Andrew Wilmott, whose work “Outback” was overwhelmingly voted People’s Choice Award winner by visitors to this year’s Castaways Sculpture Awards. Recording nearly a quarter of votes cast, “Outback” was a clear favourite and marks the 3rd consecutive People’s Choice Award win for Andrew. This year’s inaugural School’s Choice Award was won by first-time entrants Peel Home-school Group and their entry “Sir Nigel Percival Peli-Can of the Dump”. Our thanks go to the more than 18 000 people who attended Castaways this year, and to those who stopped by our Information tent to cast a vote. Winners of the People’s Choice, Kids Choice and Schools Choice voters prizes have been notified by phone.
