Congratulations to Rohit Sharma for scoring highest ever runs in ODI Cricket. However if we look at it, it shows the quality of cricket being played these days, specially in India. Just few years back an entire team scoring 264 runs was considered competitive. Now a single batsman has scored these many runs. All the scores above 200 are scored in India. I dont know what BCCI is trying to achieve here. Do they want to convert cricket into one sided batsman only game? Cricket was fun when there was healthy competition between bowlder and batsman. Sachin was considered great because he scored against the likes of McGrath, Akram, Warne on a competitive wicket. But if the cricket is going to be more and more about just number of sixes than it will lose its charm. There was beauty in straight drive of Tendulkar, Wristy shots of Laxman played against quality bowling. This current form of cricket is really disappointing and I have lost interest in all forms of cricket.
