Congratulations to SYRIZA for its victory in Greece. The Greek Green Party is a coalition member of SYRIZA. We need such a coalition in the United States, and Sanders can help see to that by remaining independent of the Democratic Party and seeking the nominations of left-wing parties, including the US Greens. The Democratic Party is not the left wing; it is pro-austerity, increasingly so. If this were Greece, the Democratic Party would be opposed by the SYRIZA coalition. BERNIE SANDERS: The Syriza victory in the Greek elections tell us that people around the world will no longer accept austerity for working families while the rich continue to get much richer. The top 1 percent of the world’s population will soon own more wealth than the bottom 99 percent.
