The film is also nominated for Best Short Film. The American Failure recently screened at the Action On Film International Film Festival, resulting in two award wins for Said Faraj, including Best Actor in a Feature, besting noted actor Skeet Ulrich (As Good As It Gets; TV’s Jericho; etc), among others in that same category, as well as winning Best Actor in a Short Film. The film follows L.A. attorney Carlos Elias, who finds himself on the run from both a ruthless drug cartel and the law after extorting millions of dollars. It was also produced and co-written by Faraj.
