Congratulations to Southeast HealthPoint Rehab pediatric physical therapist Cory Beussink on being named an Everyday Hero! Cory will be featured on KFVS News at 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 22. You can watch a SoutheastHEALTH video of Cory working with one of his patients, 1-year-old Cody Best of Jackson. His therapy session on Thursday, June 19, was filmed by KFVS for the upcoming news feature. KFVS12, the Isle of Capri Casino in Cape Girardeau and the American Red Cross monthly honor an individual who is an Everyday Hero. Cory says he “brings a positive attitude to make therapy as fun as possible. The kids participate more if it is fun.” There’s plenty of activity for his young patients in the pediatric rehab room, whether it’s pushing a plastic shopping cart or climbing colorful, soft blocks. He says it’s an “awesome feeling” when one of his pediatric patients succeeds in life. “That’s why the job is so rewarding.” Cory, who has worked at SoutheastHEALTH for almost six years, says he was surprised to be recognized as an Everyday Hero. I am very humbled,” he notes. “It is a great honor.”
