Congratulations to Tivy Antler Ray Swyers - Class of 2015 on committing to play college baseball for the Incarnate Word University Cardinals. UIW is a NCAA Division 1 - Southland Conference member. Other members of the conference include: Abilene Christian, Central, Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Lamar University, McNeese State, University of New Orleans, Nicholls State, Northern State, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin State, Southeaster Louisiana State, & Texas A&M Corpus Christi. UIW Is led by head coach Danny Heep. Coach Danny Heep enters his 17th season with an impressive 530-336 (.612) mark. He has directed UIW to 30-win campaigns on 13 occasions and counts only one losing season on his record. Ray Swyers has been a starting outfielder for Tivy since his freshman year. He earned second team all district honors his freshman, and sophomore years and first team all district this past season at Tivy under Coach Steve Rippee. He began his baseball days as a Kerrville Riverdog and then a Indian. He currently plays summer ball with the Southtexas Sliders. Ray is also a member of the national honor society at Tivy and the maintains a 4.0 gpa - top 7% of his class.UIW has offered Ray both Athletic scholarships and Academic scholarships to help with his education. Ray plans to study Sport Mangament at UIW and dreams to someday work in the front office of a major league baseball organization. TFND!
