Congratulations to all the gay couples who are getting married this year and beyond - today will go down in history! Im actually a bit surprised that there has not been more on fb of people celebrating the fact that finally equal marriage has come to the UK. I remember when I was at school and growing up and it just seemed that if I wanted to get married and have kids that these were things I couldnt do if I was gay...only if I married a man. ID never heard of or met anyone gay with kids and just knew that gay people couldnt get married or adopt/foster kids. Its pretty amazing to think that I only left school 17 years ago (Im not THAT old) and in the last 20 years things in the UK have changed so much. Yes, I might or might not get married and have kids but at least if I meet someone I want to get married and have kids with its now an option -whether that person be a man or a woman. NOW THATS SOMETHING WORTH CELEBRATING!!
