Congratulations to everyone who selected D. Elevated creatinine as the correct response to yesterdays Rheumatology Challenge! Factors that are NOT associated with an increased risk of scleroderma renal crisis include preexisting hypertension, elevated serum creatinine, or abnormal urinalysis. However, the use of glucocorticoids (particularly in high doses), the presence of anti-RNA polymerase III antibodies, and diffuse skin involvement are all associated with an increased risk of scleroderma renal crisis.
