Congratulations to one of our WFD Associate Members - Kosovar Association of the Deaf. Today, the Kosovar Governments meeting, respectively within marking of International Week of Sign Language, Government of the Republic of Kosovo has adopted a regulation on the provision of services in sign language in the Republic of Kosovo. The purpose of this regulation is to establish rules and procedures for the provision of services in sign language in the Republic of Kosovo as well as access to interpretation services through Sign Language Interpreters for Deaf Persons in the Republic of Kosovo. This regulation applies to all public institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, at central and local levels. All public institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, at central and local levels, are obliged to provide services in sign language as per the needs and requirements of persons from the deaf community. kryeministri-ks.net/index.php?page=2,9,4459 In May, 2014, WFD President Colin Allen had a private meeting with the Kosovar Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. He congratulated him and his government on recognising Kosovar Sign Language in 2010.
