Congratulations to our #1 Club in our Top 50 Clubs – Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club Kooyong was established in 1892 and is considered “the Spiritual Home of Australian Tennis”. Over the years, Kooyong was home to major tennis events including the Davis Cup and Australian Open. The honour board in the Club entry bears the names of the greats of Australian and International tennis that have graced the courts, including Sir Norman Brookes, Frank Sedgman, Ken Rosewall and John Newcombe. The great women in tennis including Nancye Bolton, Judy Dalton, Margaret Court and Evonne Goolagong Cawley have also graced the courts of Kooyong. Today, the Kooyong Foundation is providing excellent support for player development, while the clubhouse displays reflect work carried out to perpetuate the history of the Club. Kooyong offers a range of member opportunities. In addition to 51 tennis courts offering grass, en tout cas and Plexicushion surfaces, the Club has 4 squash courts, a gymnasium, swimming pool, spa, billiards & snooker, functions rooms, bar, bistro and restaurant.
