Congratulations to our Middle East America partners Silk Road Rising on their induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame! Were honored to work with those who make such a meaningful impact through their work in theater. The significance of this honor, with its myriad of cultural and political meanings, cannot be overestimated. For it is not just recognition, it is vindication. Silk Road Rising is a non-profit theatre and media arts company founded by a gay male couple, inaugurated with a Palestinian/Jewish/Lesbian-themed play, and committed, in part, to the holistic integration of feminist and queer stories within the canons of Asian American and Middle Eastern American storytelling.
