Congratulations to our Stevick Memorial USTA Tournament singles champs, Marcus Elsey (B14s) and Riley Kelley (G16s)! This is Marcus 21st USTA sanctioned tournament singles win (hes won a near equal amount in doubles) in the juniors, and he now posts an extraordinary record of 42-8 in the USTA B14s. Unseeded himself, and having not played a singles tournament in 6 months, Marcus beat the #1 seed (#41 MVTA ranked) boy in the finals in straight sets! This is Rileys first USTA tournament championship, and her absolutely incredible improvement over the year goes from not winning a match here last year, to winning all 3 of her rounds this year in the same tournament, same division! Also worth noting is Abby Norris performance in the G14s. She came in as the #2 seed and got the #1 seed in the first set in the finals 7-5, but just couldnt hold on, losing out in a tough, 10-7 super tie-breaker in the end. We are still very proud of her! Way to fight, everyone!
