Congratulations to the Greene County Farm Bureau on its 100th anniversary this year! It was quietly slipping past us, but we noticed in the Scranton Journals story of the July 31 annual meeting, the groups president Perry Parker mentioned the centennial in his remarks. The Journal story said of it: It was in 1914 that Greene County Farm Bureau was organized by county farmers who saw the need for an organization with its roots deep in the soil. For any organization or business to not only exist, but also thrive, for 100 years is a remarkable accomplishment.
