Congratulations to the Honorable Greg Neeley who was sworn in today as Justice of the 12th District Court of Appeals. Judge Neeley was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the 12th District Court of appeals on January 12, 2015, making him one of two Longview residents currently serving on the bench. Before his appointment, Judge Neeley spent more than three decades in District Seven building his career and legal expertise in both public service and private practice. In addition to his legal experience, he has set aside time throughout the years to volunteer with the Longview Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and serve as a volunteer judge for Longview Teen Court. I commend Judge Neeleys years of hard work, legal expertise, and public service that he has provided in District Seven. Unfortunately, I was unable to be present for his investiture, but I am grateful that my district director, Sharon Guthrie, was able to attend in my place. Many of Judge Neeleys family, friends, and supporters were there to witness Mr. Neeleys inauguration. Let us give thanks for Judge Neeley and pray that the Lord will continue to bless, guide, and watch over him while as he serves as a Justice on the 12th District Court of Appeals.
