Congratulations to the first seven Indigenous Australians to successfully complete the National Indigenous Culinary Institute’s three-year apprenticeship programme. The trainees, who come from across NSW, graduated at a ceremony in Sydney today. It is a testament to the skills the graduates have developed that all of them have secured full-time employment in the hospitality industry. Two of the graduates will also get experience working in leading London restaurants for four weeks in April this year. Prime Minister Tony Abbott spoke at their graduation ceremony.
