Congregational Unity of Believers We see the model for the New Testament church in Acts 2:42; And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship,and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. These four elements should be present in the life of a healthy church. How healthy is your church? Are you walking in unity? Are you caring for one another? Do you pray regularly for your brothers and sisters in Christ? Are you reaching out to your local community in tangible ways with the Gospel? It is Christs desire that we represent Him as a united body, where our diverse gifts and attributes are treated as valuable in the working of a healthy organism. Do you feel like you dont need the other members of your church body? Or are you united in purpose? During this time of prayer for revival in our hearts, in our pastors, and in our nation, we need to also pray for revival in our congregations. Pray for unity. Pray for compassion and caring. Pray that there would be no gossip, slander, racial division, social segregation or dissention in our local church. These things can debilitate the church like an illness. As a congregation we are to be like a lighthouse, pointing the way to life in Christ. We are to shine the light of Gods love and forgiveness to our community. The only way that we will be successful in fulfilling this Great Commission is if we are unified, if we are walking in Gods grace, and if we are sharing from His compassion. Take time today to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray for their spiritual health. Pray that revival would sweep through your church.
