Congressman Eni F.H. Faleomavaega has published an op-ed - TopicsExpress

Congressman Eni F.H. Faleomavaega has published an op-ed discussing H.R. 1278, a new landmark bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would amend the Trademark Act of 1946 and cancel the federal registrations of trademarks using the word “redskin” in reference to Native Americans. As noted in the piece, NARF fully supports H.R. 1278. We have worked on this issue for over 20 years and we commend Rep. Faleomavaega and all of the original sponsors of this important bill, which sends a clear signal that some members of Congress do not take anti-Native stereotyping and discrimination lightly.
