Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers lied to the country Tuesday night in her official Republican response to President Obama’s State of the Union Address. Rep. McMorris Rodgers told the story of “Bette in Spokane,” who supposedly was facing a nearly $700 monthly premium increase because of the Affordable Care Act—except there was one problem with that story: it wasn’t true. The Spokesman Review reported yesterday that “Bette in Spokane” was not forced to pay $700 more a month, and in fact had other, cheaper health care options available in Washington through the health exchanges -- she simply chose not to avail herself of those options. And Bette never spoke with McMorris Rodgers’ office to tell the whole story. When will they learn the TRUTH is out there? Remember... in November...
