Connor Collins received the Most Valuable Player award for the Junior Varsity football team at the programs award ceremony last night. Connor rushed for more than half of the teams total rushing yards (458 of 815 yards) and was responsible for more than half of the receiving yards (222 of just over 400 passing yards). He was also the teams 2nd leading tackler on the defensive-side of the ball. For the final game of the season, Connor played quarterback when the starter broke his thumb on his throwing hand (where he completed 50% of his pass attempts). The Varsity team made the playoffs and Connor was moved up to Varsity for the playoff game, where he played on special teams. In the playoffs, the Trojans lost a heart-breaker, 21 - 20, to 3rd-seeded San Marin High School in the North Coast Section of the California State High School football playoffs. The Trojans scored a touchdown on their final drive, but missed on the 2-point conversion attempt to win the game.
