Connor reuses pound in feisty derby Boca seniors v Crossgar United brings drama , excitement and most importantly goals to the table . Second v third in the table however took the spoils in this game would go top as Journey had their week off. Paul Dickson returned to the Boca side were the fans classify him as a legend at the club , the stats suggest the best strike-force against the best defence in the league. Boca got it started the passion was running high as Boca were putting heavy pressure on uniteds defence of Mark Connor and Andy Smyth. Aaron Noble had the first chance as he was played in but he placed his shot wide of the upright. Both sides had their caretaker managers of Mark Connor and Aaron Noble taking charge as both managers had work commitments . Smyth had the first chance for United as his shot was pushed away by Josh Bunting in the Boca keeper the ever present keeper having his best season to date. Darren Marshall who has saved the Boca Boys many times this season then made a superb darting run up the left flank to cross for Adam McDowell to turn the ball home . One - Nil Boca how were united going to respond not very well was the answer as Boca went Two ahead when Dickson played in Noble to slot into the net to the delight of tricky winger. United seeked a response indeed they nearly had one when Aaron Cheevers shot only for Mannone Bunting to palm away from the danger zone. Frustration was starting to show the derby kick started as United star man Alley Wilson simply couldent get past Dickson the rock hard defender. Mark Connor linked up well with Cheevers who did beat Bunting this time his shot hitting the corner of the net, This season so far has been crazy goals galore united levelled when Wilsons weak shot somehow beat Bunting a poor piece of goalkeeping from the eighteen year old. George Bunting at the other end made a superb save to keep the scores level when Adam McDowell headed down into the ground the veteran topping it over. This game was turning out to be the showpiece of the season Boca hoping to beat united for the first time in their short history. United went into the lead when Cheevers crossed low to Connor he stooped the ball into the net past the dive of Bunting. Boca pressed and pressed for an equaliser and got it Marshall flew forward to cross for the head of McDowell to find the net. United United United sung the supporters as Bunting made a superb save to tip over a Jack Montgomery shot. Boca scored with moments to spare in the first half when Noble pulled it back for Marshall to find the net. United somehow levelled on the stroke of the half time whistle as Wilson shot was superbly saved by Bunting only for no covering defenders the ball falling kindly to Cheevers to hammer home. Half time Boca 4-4 Crossgar United The teams were pumped up after their half time team talk united going close when Wilson turned Dickson his shot dragging narrowly wide. Mark Connor then played Smyth through his shot beaten away by bunting again keeping his side into the side. Boca went five ahead on the counter attack when Marshalls step over lived Connor Reeling he found McDowell to pounce the ball into the net. Would the boys in blue hold on as the game cranked up a little when Connor crossed for Montgomery to fire wide you began to think this was Seniors night. Ally Wilson then made a mazy run to nutmeg Dickson his shot expertly blocked by Marshall a contender for man of the match . United levelled once again as a short free kick was poorly defended by Boca the ball finding Cheevers to fire home . Boca were stunned as they kicked off again but in a matter of moments regained the lead when Noble fizzled in a shot through the legs of George Bunting although this was followed by controversy as the ball seemed to go out of play . United were furious but nearly levelled as a superb double save by Mannone first from Wilson then the old head of Mark Hughes the experiences player creating problems. Hughes levelled for United in the closing stages as his thunderbolt found the roof of the net would this goal set up United for all three points. However Boca went ahead when Noble played in that man McDowell once again to surely gift Boca all three points . Boca were just simply ticking down the clock keeping the ball in the corner but late late drama was to follow as United won the ball and countered with three Boca players up the pitch Cheevers crossed for Connor to find the corner of the net to his delight as he wheeled off in celebration. Full time Boca 7-7 Crossgar United A draw in a great game of football that Journey will be happy as they sit top of table going into next weeks fixture .
